Selling the OnePlus Nord 4 as absurdly good in a Wes Anderson-style film set in a Bucharest hotel
Every year, Nord quietly outperformed its class, and every year that fact just sat in the spec sheet, unclaimed. Nobody was building a story around it. So we asked the question no one wanted to answer: why would OnePlus put a $1,000 camera in a $500 phone, elite processors in a phone for everyone, tier-1 batteries at tier-3 pricing? On paper, none of it makes sense.

That "wrong" became the idea. Nord isn't logical, it's absurd, in the best sense, illogically brave, never settling for what a phone at this price is supposed to be. So instead of hiding that absurdity, we made “Absurdly Good” the core idea. Every feature, the processing speed, the display, gets a reaction to match: eyes growing comically large, like the phone is too good to actually process.

We built the world around that in the style of a Wes Anderson film, a hotel in Bucharest where the phone turns up on the menu of a snobbish, overly sophisticated restaurant, elegance and eccentricity in the same shot. Argentinian directing duo Plástico brought it to life.
