Uniting three China-inspired Salomon collections under one idea rooted in ancient Chinese wisdom rediscovered in nature
Salomon launched three China-inspired collections, Pan Hui, Yin Yang, and Bingfa, and asked us to create a holistic concept and visual system to introduce this first pack originating from China.

When we reviewed the themes, we noticed they lacked a clear connection to Salomon's outdoor DNA. All three were inspired by Chinese heritage, but heritage alone isn't a brand idea, so we kept asking ourselves what actually united them beyond that.

Through deeper exploration, we found the shared foundation: each theme is rooted in ancient Chinese wisdom that can be rediscovered in nature. Pan Hui reflects hibernation and resilience, the snake's wisdom of torpor, knowing when to lie dormant and when to wake and strike. Yin Yang explores the balance between humanity and nature, stillness against motion. Bingfa draws on strategic thinking in the face of uncertainty, reading a landscape that changes without warning and turning danger into advantage. Three chapters, one mountain, one idea: The Tao of the Mountains.

We developed a core visual system that brings together traditional Chinese design language and Chinese subculture influences expressed through typography, extended graphic elements, and symbolic motifs.
